What to Wear to a Feis

Regular Feis

Dance costume – O’Hare School jumper / O’Hare vest / O’Hare School dress / Solo dress

• O’Hare School jumpers and school dresses are worn by dancers at the beginner through Novice levels.

• Boys wear O’Hare vests with white shirts and black pants.

• Solo costumes can be worn by dancers who are completely in the Prizewinner, PC, or Championship level. Dancers may also be eligible if they have been dancing for 5+ years.

• Male dancers wear black pants, dress shirt and choice of vest or jacket

  • Solo costumes must be approved by teachers prior to purchasing

Black & White or Blackout

Black skirt

Plain black t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, leotard - (Can wear a white shirt or skirt if it is black & white)

Hair can be worn however kids want – typically wigs are not worn at these feiseanna

Makeup – if age & competition level allows

Many kids purchase athletic skorts with built-in shorts – just about every brand of athletic clothing offers plain black skirts, you just typically want something that is not tight and allows for kicking freely  

Many feiseanna offer different types of black feis apparel that you can purchase or get an idea of what others wear. You can order things at dance stores online such as Discount Dance Supply, Dancewear Solutions or any number of online stores. Amazon also has a lot of dancewear options.
